Pimento & Hot Pepper. The Mento Story (PG) 59 minutes

In Jamaica, before ska, reggae and dancehall there was mento. This is a history of Jamaica's first commercially viable music, which peaked with the popularity of Calypso. The film captures performances from some of the bands that have been playing for over 50 yrs, as well as interviews from leading authorities on mento.

The Road through the Blue Mountains

The most beautiful journey one can take in Jamaica is along the 33-mile road from Kingston to Portland, through the Blue Mountains, home of Jamaica's famous coffee.  The film follows a young Jamaican couple on a 2-day trip, sharing the environmental beauty and interesting people they meet on the way.

The Shardai Cousineau Story

Shardai Cousineau is a young lady that is truly inspirational. Everyday she lives with: a currently non curable condition (Epidermylosis Bulosa) where the outer and second layer of skin does not stay attached to her body. Even with the loss of skin on her limbs she still manages to inspire others .

Accompong Town is one of the few remaining Maroon Towns in Jamaica. Home of Cudjoe, the fierce Maroon Warrior who fought the English planters and secured a peace treaty and freedom for the Maroons, Accompong Town is still today a self-governing community within Jamaica. Cudjoe's sword takes you on a short tour of this community where rituals of the past continue until today.

Along the way they learn leadership, commitment, trust, multi-cultural respect and the value of belonging to a musical family. The film captures their hard work, emotional stress and unbridled joy as they move toward the finish line. Directed by Gayle Wilmot

Dance With Your Heart (Tengo Talento Cuba)

Jennyselt is a dancer of Afro Cuban Folklore, with great prestige within Cuba and internationally and currently dances with the group Yoruba Andabo. She seeks her successor to keep the legacy of Afro-Cuban culture, dance and religion alive. Jennyselt takes us to the side of Havana that is rarely seen by tourist, Juanelo. Where there is a community project cultivating dreams and teaching the next generation of dancers. Who will she choose to keep the legacy alive?
